Mikey aka Pickle Thompson ~ December 27, 2001 ~ February 8, 2014 Our beloved boy Mikey (aka Pickle) was called home to play fetch with the angels on Saturday, February 8, 2014. He was born on December 27, 2001 and came to us shortly thereafter a tattered little mess of a puppy. Within a year he was unrecognizable to anyone who hadn’t seen him regularly, and while he caused lots of headaches that first year he also proved how much of a fighter he really was. He quickly grew on us as well as everyone else who had the honor of knowing him. Mikey’s favorite pastimes were wrestling with his dad, and he was always up for a game of fetch if a proper stick was offered. Though bringing the stick back rarely happened more than a time or two, he was quite happy to take them and make his own mulch. When Mikey wasn’t doing one of those things he was usually glued to his momma’s side as he thought it was his job to protect her from any possible threat. He was a great teacher to his four furry siblings, fur uncle, and fur cousin. Mikey was truly a special dog. He was a great best friend, protector, and son to us. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love and miss you Mikey.
