Mahoney Davenport

” I understand completely. Now what do you mean?” – Slip Mahoney

Mahoney entered our lives sometime in 2009. The way that such a perfect cat could have simply found us makes one believe fate exists.

Quickly adopted, he became not just a cat but a core member of our family as well as a second shadow to our dog Diefenbaker.

We did not know Mahoney’s age, but his spirit was timeless. He was rambunctious, good-natured, and clever. Often a troublemaker but never trouble (well most of the time.)

At his core Mahoney was full of kindness; he literally wouldn’t hurt a mouse. He loved playing with stringed toys, sitting on Dad’s lap, taking selfies, and politely declining things with his paw. He was a daily part of our happiness and there were not enough days. There is a hole in the world now, and that hole is shaped with a tail and a pinned back ear. Love you Mahoney.

He is survived by Jessica Davenport as well as his best friend Jeff Davenport.
