Colton Michael Montgomery Whaley
July 21, 2001 ~ February 19, 2015 (Age 14)
Colton Michael Montgomery Whaley
Colton Michael Montgomery Whaley, grandson of world hall of fame Tekoa Mountain Sunrise, son of Clearcreek Sunrise and Jay Jay’s Lucy. Born July 21, 2001 in Washington IN. Colton came into my life September 16th, 2001 and became my hero dog as a result of 9-11.
Today I lost my boy, my hero. Colton Michael. As I sit here typing this I cannot find the words that best describe the boy he was and what he meant to me. Everyone who spent five minutes with him knows he is the biggest momma’s baby. Everywhere I went he went, no door could be between us. Letting him go, saying goodbye-there are no words to describe the pain. I realize with each day the pain will lessen and the memories more joyful but for now all I feel is empty. I’ve been down this road before and I will feel the same grief again, but I will never find anything close to my hero. Colt- thank you for being my boy, for saving my life, for being my marlboro man. More than anything-thank you for loving me unconditionally. You are and will always be my hero and just know you took a part of my heart with you. Now go get the birds. I love you Whaley boy.

Today Woody crossed the bridge to join Colton - Two fur babies loved deeply by two mom\'s who have loved deeply for their own and for others- In my heart of hearts I know Colton welcomed Woody with love and kindness and walked straight over to meet up with Joy and Kirby and to let them know that not one day goes by without their mom Jeannie thinking of them and shedding a tear in their memory- Rest in peace Woody- your in good hands and in great company

Colton little Yashima -You had a strong need for freedom - physical, mental and spiritual. You hated bondage in any form (a leash). You had love of beauty and philosophy, and you desired achievement. You were willing to take spiritual matters on faith instead of subjecting them to mental analysis. You were inventive, intuitive and extremely methodical. Since your will was so strong, you were hard to convince. You also disliked advice. You loved beauty and philosophy, and you desired achievement.
Dependable, very down-to-earth and well grounded, you were always looking for meaningful work, a career where you could take pride in your work and do the best job you were capable of. Your prime desire was to build protected and secure environments at home and at work. You could be very persuasive in achieving goals and gaining objectives. You could be very detailed and well-organized and possessed great organizational skills. At times you may have appeared too stubborn and overly critical to others, but your practical approach to life and productivity made you one of the most beneficent members of community.

Colton,
you were one of the best dogs ever and when I worked with you at the store I felt the safest,,, I knew you would not let nothing happen to Mommy Kim and me.. Not even the bullet proof glass made me feel as safe as you did. You were so good days before you passed while you were at my house playing with Malcom and Ellie. And Little Maddie Loved you like her own. Your free from pain but always in our hearts.

Kim-Chris; There are no words I could say to you to ease your pain. But just know that one day he will be waiting for you to come home, again. Until then he will be chasing the birds.

Colton - I remember when you would meet me in my driveway as I was going to get the mail - I would say \"come on, come on, let\'s go\" and you would go directly to my mailbox and wait for me to catch up - then we would meet again on my front porch for a biscuit - you always got there before me - such a sweet, sweet boy!!!

Colt- you stepped right in when we left and you took care of the best mom we could have ever wished for. Thank you my little brother for taking over where we left off and loving her even more than we thought possible. You stood by her when everyone left and you saved her life more times than anyone knows. She needed you and you were there every second. Walk away from bridge door and run and bark with us now. She knows your watching over her with the rest of her kids.

Colton - I will miss you playing with your biscuit on our front porch - teasing me at least three times before finally eating it! You were such a sweet boy and I know I will miss you even more when the warm weather gets here.
