Abby Kerr June 8, 1999 ~ November 29, 2013 The Kerr Family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved companion, Abby, who has blessed our home for over fourteen years. Born in obscurity, she was rescued when only a puppy while wandering the streets of Greenwood and grew to be esteemed for her even-tempered nature, her tenderness with children, and her remarkable intelligence. She was also noted for her beautiful, feminine face and regal bearing. Abby accompanied her family on many adventures and generously provided them with a seemingly endless supply of love and humorous anecdotes. She was fond of going on long walks, snatching food out of midair, licking ears, gesturing with her eyebrows, cleaning peanut butter jars, sitting like a queen, playing chase, sliding on wooden floors, and patiently enduring the inquisitive hands of two little children. Late in her life, she had the opportunity to raise another rescued dog taken in by her family, and proved herself to be firm and effective mother to a rambunctious young Shih Tzu named Lucy, who is now much tamed thanks to Abby’s perservance. Abby is survived by her adoptive family – Jill, Andrew, Elizabeth and Benjamin – who mourn her passing along with many other admirers. She is, and always will be carissimis nostris canem et amicus noster – our dearly beloved dog and our friend.
